For over 35 years, our family-owned and operated business in Carterton, Wairarapa, has been helping New Zealanders become transport mobile, whether as a driver or passenger. How It Works – Your Mobility Journey

Start here – We’re with you every step of the way

Whether you’ve already spoken to a Vehicle Occupational Therapist (OT) or are just starting out, here’s what to do:


Step 1

Get a referral

If you haven’t yet, speak to your OT first. They’ll assess your needs and guide your funding options (ACC, Lotteries, Enable, or others).

Step 2

Quote Created with OT

We’ll work with them to create a tailored solution for your vehicle and a quote will be generated for you and/or your funding provider

Step 3

Quote Approved

Once we receive confirmation from you and/or your OT we will arrange to order your parts and book in the job.

Step 4

We complete the install

Our expert team handles the full install in-house, ensuring everything is safe, secure, and ready to go.

Step 5

Ongoing support

We will arrange for your vehicle handover to be completed and we will be here to help support you afterwards too. If you need changes or adjustments in the future we can help you.

Do you sell individual items?

Yes, we can supply wheelchair restraints, seatbelts (stalks and retractable belts), remotes and other items you may need. 

Can you modify my vehicle without the need for a Transport Occupational Therapist to be involved?

Yes sometimes we can for minor modifications – however the input from the vehicle OT is often very important to make sure that everything has been thought through and all options have been considered.

The OT is responsible for assessing your capabilities and vehicle needs and then prescribing what modifications need to be done (and how they need to be set up) to enable you to be transport mobile in the safest way possible.

They can also help you with funding applications too so it’s always best to chat with them before we do a quote for any work. If you are looking to drive a modified vehicle yourself – then you will always need to involve a vehicle OT before we can help you.

Can you install a pin or plate on my new wheelchair for travel in a vehicle with an existing docking system?

Yes we can! Get in touch with us today to book in and we can help you to get this sorted.

Can I buy replacement parts from you?

Yes we can provide replacement parts if required, eg seatbelts, wheelchair restraints, remote controls. If we don’t have these in stock we can source them for you – just ask us!

I have a vehicle that’s already modified – can you help me to make some further changes to it?

Yes absolutely. We can remove/add modifications depending on what you need. Often clients will come to us with second hand vehicles and we can adjust them to suit.

Can you provide advice about what vehicle might be best for us?

While we can give you general information about what type of crane or hoist might help you, and what type of vehicle it might fit into, you really need to chat with a Transport Occupational Therapist in the first instance. They will run through some options with you and then contact us to get a quote.
